What Water Cellar keeps, and why
We keep as little as we can, we never sell it, and you can delete your account yourself at any time.
What we collect
- Newsletter. Your email address and the page you signed up from, used only to send the newsletter. Each new signup is also emailed to our inbox, info@watercellar.net.
- Accounts (optional). Your email address, the waters you've starred or tried, your notes and your quiz result, so you can see them on any device. Sign-in codes and signed-in devices are stored only as one-way fingerprints, not as readable codes.
- Shop links. When you open a shop from "Where to buy", we record the water, the shop, the page you were on and the time. Nothing that identifies you.
- My Cellar without an account. It stays in your browser on your device. We never see it.
What we don't do
No advertising trackers, and we don't sell or share your information.
Other services
Our fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google receives your device's IP address when a page loads. Shops you open from "Where to buy" have their own privacy policies. If a shop link ever earns us a commission, it is labeled "Paid link".
Where it's stored
On Water Cellar's web hosting, in a US data center.
Your choices
- Delete your account from My Cellar. This removes everything saved in it.
- Leave the newsletter by replying to any newsletter email, or by writing to info@watercellar.net.
